I make fun of badfic sometimes. It's hard to resist. There's some hilariously terrible fic out there, and the same shared context of being in a fandom that allows us to appreciate in-jokes and spot-on characterization in good fic also lends itself to pointing and laughing at the stuff that doesn't fit.
